Requirements to get a library card:

  • Any person 5 years of age or older may register for a free library card.
  • Your library card is valid at all participating WAGGIN libraries.
  • You must present your library card each time you borrow materials or use library computers.
  • Patrons must renew their library cards every 3 years.
  • A valid driver’s license or other form of photo identification is necessary.
  • If a drivers license is not available, a verifiable written form of identification, including current permanent address, is needed to apply for a library card.
  • Children under 16 are eligible for a library card with parental signature and identification. If a 16 year old has a valid permit or drivers license, they do not need parental signature.
  • Library cards are not transferable.
  • Lost or damaged library card – $2.00
  • Fines are not collected at this time; you will be instead billed for the total price of the item after 30-45 days.

Borrowing Policies

  • Most materials may be borrowed for 14 days
  • Materials will renew automatically two times unless they are on hold by another patron.
  • Materials may be returned inside the library during operating hours. The book drop is open 24 hours a day/7 days a week.
  • You must present your library card each time you borrow materials or use library computers.
  • Library card holder is responsible for all materials checked out on the card; payment for damaged, lost or stolen materials; reporting a lost card immediately; and providing prompt notice of address changes.
